2026/27: a rebuilding year
After three consecutive seasons at the top level of Iberian hockey, HC Porto has decided not to enter the 2026/27 Liga Ibérica season. The decision follows a season in which the club again competed without a home rink and with the financing of the Trofa arena project still unresolved.
The pause is being used to strengthen what high-level competition depends on: youth development, infrastructure, equipment and a stronger Portuguese core. National team players continue to train and compete with the club in the national championship and a summer high-performance camp, and the 2027/28 roster will be built from the summer of 2027, Portuguese players first.
