HC Porto, founding member of the Liga Ibérica
The Spanish top division, the Liga Nacional de Hockey Hielo, becomes the Liga Ibérica from the 2024/25 season, under the Spanish and Portuguese federations and the IIHF. HC Porto, which had played the 2023/24 season as the first Portuguese member of the Spanish league, is the founding Portuguese club of the new competition.
The league was presented in Madrid in September 2024. For HC Porto it means a second season against clubs such as CH Jaca, Kosner Huarte, CG Puigcerdà, Txuri-Urdin, CH Madrid and FC Barcelona, still without a home rink, with every game on the road.
